The BEST cue in town: Big Daddy Jay's All American BBQ

My friend Candice was craving for some awesome ribs one Saturday and she recommended we go to Big Daddy Jay’s. She kept on insisting that it's the BEST ribs she’s had, ever. Believe me, she wouldn't easily admit to things like that. So without any hesitation, we went straight to Big Daddy Jay’s in Cubao. It’s a small place and their menu is limited to ribs, wings, some sides and a couple of desserts.

It’s a simple place with awesome food. 

We ordered some ribs, herbed potatoes, honey mustard wings and some key lime pie so we can at least taste each type of dish they offer.

HONEY MUSTARD WINGS

The wings were okay. I would have preferred a stronger honey mustard flavor but these were pretty good. It’s served in a plate with three pcs of wings and another three pcs of mini drumsticks (or whatever you call it). I'll try the buffalo style next time.

HERBED POTATOES

These babies are yummy and cheap! It’s just P25 an order. They complement the food well.

And of course… THE RIBS

We waited for at least 15-20 minutes for the ribs to cook in this very juicy and tasty state. This is the solo order -- it comes with a slab of ribs and some corn or herbed potatoes. It’s the type of meal that you finish until the last bone. 

The sauce has a slightly spicy flavor which goes well with the ribs. The meat is very tender and once you put it in your mouth, the flavors are dancing together. Their ribs are cooked slowly but surely into a heavenly piece of meat. I highly recommend this to meat lovers out there!

Last but not the least, AUNT WILMA'S KEYLIME PIE

I wasn’t expecting much from the keylime pie anymore since I was too happy with the ribs already, but this dessert is the perfect way to end this meal. Thank you, Aunt Wilma, even though I don't really know who you are, for making this divine Keylime Pie! If you love the taste of citrus fruits especially lemon, then you’ll really love this pie. It’s tangy with just the right level of sweetness. We finished it until the last crumb. As Candy told me when I was finishing the dessert, “Kulang nalang dilaan mo yung plato!” Haha!

They really do have the BEST cue in town and we will definitely be back for more to try out the other stuff in the menu and maybe a bigger portion of those ribs!
